Position Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Media Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore and create across various media platforms, fostering both technical skills and creative expression. The role demands a collaborative spirit and strong interpersonal skills, as the course integrates interdisciplinary and teamwork-based approaches.
Key Responsibilities
– Teach media-related subjects, incorporating film, photojournalism, and broadcasting techniques.
– Guide students in the use of DSLR cameras and other filming equipment, supporting hands-on learning experiences.
– Introduce students to cinematic elements and terms, fostering their understanding of storytelling through media.
– Provide instruction in video editing software, such as Final Cut, Adobe Premiere Pro, or similar tools.
– Collaborate with colleagues to create interdisciplinary projects that integrate media education across subjects.
– Organize and oversee media-related community events, such as film screenings, exhibitions, and collaborative projects.
– Foster a collaborative classroom environment that encourages peer-to-peer learning and teamwork.
Qualifications
– A Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies, Communications, Education, or a related field.
– Must have experience in at least one of the following media categories: film, photojournalism, or broadcasting.
– Experience or willingness to use and learn DSLR cameras and other filming equipment.
– Knowledge of cinematic elements and terms is preferred.
– Familiarity with video editing software (e.g., Final Cut, Adobe Premiere Pro) is highly desirable.
– Strong organizational skills and experience in planning community events.
– Excellent interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and navigate interdisciplinary approaches.
– Previous teaching experience and familiarity with the IB framework are preferred but not required.
