Middle Years Programme & Diploma Programme Math Teacher

Horizon Japan International School seeks a dynamic, enthusiastic and talented teacher of MYP & DP Mathematics Teacher who organizes and implements an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to engage with and evaluate new concepts, develop approaches to learning skills and explore the power and precision of mathematics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics, with experience in delivering mathematics at the MYP and DP level. We seek to cultivate classrooms in which students learn not only to answer questions, but to question answers, and we need teachers who want to work alongside students toward the shared goal of ever-deeper learning. MYP & DP Math Teacher’s Responsibilities include:

Supporting the mission, vision and philosophy of the HJIS
Planning and implementing educational activities and experiences
Conducting child observations and developmental assessments
Supervising the classroom team of assistants and aides
Preparing and maintaining a classroom environment that supports inquiry and discovery
Preparing reports, portfolios and conducting conferences with parents

Working Hours	Working Days
8:00am – 4:30pm	Monday-Friday
