Primary School Learning Support Teacher

Horizon Japan International School seeks a dedicated and compassionate Primary School Learning Support Teacher to provide individualized support and interventions to students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure that each student receives the tailored instruction and care they need to succeed.

Primary School Learning Support Teacher’s Responsibilities include:

  • Provide direct support to students in the classroom, small group settings, and one-on-one.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet individual student needs.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) or learning plans.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting interventions as needed.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, providing updates on student progress and strategies for support at home.
  • Liaise with external professionals (e.g., speech therapists, psychologists) as required.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in learning support.

Primary School Learning Support Teacher

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field.
  • Certification in Learning Support or Special Education is highly desirable.
  • Experience in IB Programs or Piagetian programs is preferred.
  • Experience working with primary-aged students with diverse learning needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and professionals.
  • Familiarity with creating and implementing learning support plans.
Working Hours Working Days
8:00am – 4:30pm Monday-Friday
